Tramadol addiction

I can tell that from experience with addiction and what I know about tramadol there are several things to consider when you are trying to learn how to stop using drugs like this especially if you are trying to do your very best to try and beat  tramadol addiction. Many people have become addicted to prescription pain killers that were once legitimately prescribed. Rush Limbaugh is the most famous real life example. The most prominent example from fiction of a painkiller addict is television’s Doctor Gregory House.

How to overcome an addiction to tramadol

Overcoming this kind of drug addiction is not an easy process. Unlike marijuana, which is not physically addictive, the body can become dependent on this medication, as it can with many other drugs. Heroin and alcohol are the two most famous addictive substances on which the body can develop an addiction.

Even if you follow the doctor’s instructions specifically, you may still end up with a substance addiction through no fault of your own. The procedure for beating this addiction is similar to the process of overcoming an addiction to any other drug on which the body can become physically dependent.

Do you need help to overcome drug addiction?

Before starting to wean yourself off of this prescription painkiller, you should consult your doctor for help. Your primary care physician should be able to put you on a plan to gradually wean yourself off the drug. The goal for treating an addiction to vicodin, morphine and other physically addictive drugs like this is to reduce the dosages carefully and get the body used to a lower amount of the drug in the system.

Quitting taking the drug all together is not a good idea once a person becomes addicted. The body literally starts needing it to survive. Ironically, the drug does not induce the euphoria of other opiates. It does contain a synthetic form of codeine that produces a ‘buzz’ in the user.

Tapering off of tramadol

If tapering off did not work for you and you still want to stop using tramadol I would recommend that you look into going to some type of opiate rehab. If you go and you are afraid of the tramadol withdrawal you can choose to be medically detoxed. This takes right around 5 days but I would recommend that when finished with your detox that you continue your recovery in residential treatment this will take approximately another ten days.

While there you will attend lectures, 12 step meetings, drug addiction therapy sessions and watch recovery orientated videos. This is all to prepare you for when you leave opiate addiction rehab.

How to make it through withdrawal successfully aka ultram

Addiction to tramadol aka ultram addiction withdrawal can happen to anyone that uses that medication to manage their pain.   Classified as a narcotic, this medication is a powerful drug that can only be prescribed by a doctor.  However, this does not mean it lacks addictive qualities.  Even if you use the drug in the way it was intended, you may become dependent.   The situation is worse if you have experienced addiction with alcohol or illegal drugs, as the problem is exacerbated among these groups.  This is why doctors do not like prescribing this medication to people who have suffered with addiction before… it is almost inviting addiction in the future.

What to Do if You Develop an ultram addiction and have to face the symptoms of ultram withdrawal?

The symptoms of  withdrawal are more noticeable after you abruptly stop using your medication.  You will notice very severe withdrawal symptoms, ranging from vomiting to hallucinations.  You may also have trouble sleeping.  If you notice any of these symptoms, you need to talk with your doctor immediately.  If the problem cannot be resolved by changing your medication, you may need to get help from a clinic to get over the addiction.

Either way, do not feel guilty or ashamed at what you have suffered.   What matters now is that you are trying to get help for your problem.  Many people fail to even get to that stage, which is why they end up dealing with worse issues down the road.

Are you on a quest to find a way to stop drug abuse? Well you’re on the right page. Whether you are the one addicted to this pain medication or a loved one, you are bound to learn about this narcotic-type of medication used for different levels of pain.

If you are using Ultram, should not exceed the maximum daily dose of 300mg. You should also take extra precaution if you are taking other types of medications because numerous cases of seizures have been reported from combining this medication with other medications and fatalities from overdoses have been reported as well.

On a positive note, addiction to this drug is curable or treatable. The bad news however is that it is imperative for you to only go through detoxing with medical supervision. There can be several side effects while one is detoxing such as hallucinations, tremors and chills on top of sweating and anxiety attacks can be unsafe if done without a medical professional monitoring the severity and intensity of the withdrawal side effects.

Just like any other narcotic detoxing, abruptly stopping the consumption of a narcotic drug can do more harm than good to your system so never attempt to do this on your own.

Because this belongs to the opiate group, withdrawing from it has been known to be very difficult to both the person’s body and will power. The ANR or Accelerated Neuro-Regulation method and the Waismann method are the two top detox methods chosen

Good luck

I have been on Tramadol for 16 years now. I started with 3 herniated discs in my lower back. I got used to it and had no problem uping my dose to 30 pills a day. The first 7 years there was no problems stopping it. No big deal from 30 or 40 pills a day and felt no nothing to be without it for a month or whatever. It’s way different now, i have been taking around 60 a day. 25 before I get up in the mornings, then take more as needed to keep the buzz on. I stop around 8 pm and start on beer, about a 12 pack a night, but I have been drinking like that since I was 18 years old. My last Drs visit my blood tests where normal as they have been my whole life. I have always worked my ass off and never been in trouble for either one my whole life. I am now on disability for my back problems collecting over $2000.00 a month so you know I ain’t bull shiting you all. 2 years ago I stopped both beer and tramadol at the same time cold turkey. In 5 days all withdrawls were gone and I felt great. However I missed the buzz and started again and am up to sometimes 80 a day. I buy them off internet pharmacies @ 123.90 a pop 4 times a month and whatever I can get from my Dr and my wife’s Doctor.
I have GOT TO STOP THIS I’m 60 years old and in good health according to my Doctor, of course I’ve never told him about the pills or the beer. But since my violent child hood I have never cared if I lived or died. I do now because I have Grand kids who love me. I tell you all this so you know what it can do to you!!! GET OFF THIS DRUG NOW!! I don’t know why I am still healthy according to my Doctors. God must be saving me for some reason. Probably after that I’ll probably croak the next day. I wish you all luck in getting off this CRAP before you end up like me. Doctors told me it’s non addictive when he first put me on it and gave me refills anytime I wanted one.

I wish you all the best, just GET off Of this poison now.
I have no idea what’s going to happen to me.
