That’s right anyone with the desire to stop using heroin can do it if you follow these simple suggestions.

OK we have established that you have the desire to stop using heroin so here is the first thing you can do. I would get rid of all of your drug using utensils because you will have no further need for them. Next you can tell your family members of your plans to quit using heroin I would also tell all my using friends of my plans to stop heroin and that they should not come around some of them still will but they will see that you are serious and will stop coming. I think this will happen when they realize that you are no longer going to help support their heroin addiction.

How to quit using heroin

Now on to the best part look for a place that does heroin treatment in your vicinity give them a call and ask them a few questions like do they can detox you from heroin and plus ask about it they have residential treatment. Then check about insurance and other funding if you do not have insurance maybe they will except Medicaid when done make an appoint to enter treatment.

Once you enter treatment if  you have chosen to quit heroin with a heroin detox then this will begin right away. The first thing that will happen is the staff, probably a licensed nurse will give you something like suboxone to help with you’re your heroin withdrawal. This whole procedure will only take 3 to 5 days during this time you will basically get a lot of bed rest.

Ok when you have finished this procedure it is on to move over to residential treatment where you will watch videos about recovery, attend lectures, individual counseling, and attend NA meetings. This is all to give you a better understanding of addiction and prepare you for when you leave heroin rehab so you will not return to using heroin again.

Ok once you have finished with your rehab and go home you are going to want to be doing something for your heroin addiction recovery so you do not relapse and return to active addiction.

What I did and a lot of other addicts do is start attending NA meetings. This is a good way to get away from being alone because any addict alone that just left drug rehab is in bad company.

If you start going I would suggest that you go to a meeting a day for 90 days. This will get you used to sharing whats going on with you and you will also make some quality friends along the way and these will be real friends that will go out on a limb for you not like the dope fiend using friends that only used you to get high.
