Suboxone Treatment Can Help Break Heroin Addiction

Suboxone treatment can help free an addict from a painful addiction with opiods. Many times opiate users use only to avoid the “sick” feeling when withdrawing from heroin. Approved by the FDA in 2002, Suboxone is a Schedule III opiate agonist treatment similar to morphine or heroin itself. Suboxone is the most effective treatment option available for treating opiate addiction.

The good thing about this drug is that it can be prescribed by an addictionoligist. Now this being the case many people with a heroin or painkiller addiction can now stop using at home with suboxone.

This drug may not be for everyone because they are rather expensive but keep in mind if you have a heroin addiction what it cost you to buy it every day. If it were me I would try to think about it in terms of the thousands and thousands I spent on heroin and opiate drugs over the years then they would seem like they were free and I am sure many of you would agree with me on this.

Using suboxone can help you to overcome an opiate addictoin

Suboxone is available in 2 and 8 milligram tablets that can be adjusted based on several factors including the addict’s dependency to opiates. The dosage will also be increased or decreased as treatment progresses.

The pill is placed under the tongue where it dissolves. After just one or two treatments using this medication, the euphoria, or “high” feeling obtained with intravenous heroin use is blocked by the drug. The client must continue to take the Suboxone each day to avoid relapse. The medication does carry risk of dependency and withdrawal symptoms can occur if stopped abruptly.

Doctors who have been given a special addictions license to prescribe the drug  suboxone for suboxone detox treatment are available throughout the United States. These clinics aid in helping free clients from their opiate addictions.

These clinics are quick and convenient for those who work or have other daily tasks to tend to. Insurance usually does not cover the costs of these treatments.

Suboxone detox as a treatment for addiction

Many clients choose to take advantage of the services offered by these clinics to ease the withdrawal symptoms associated with heroin or other opiate drug use. During the first visit a complete medical history will be obtained to determine the treatment that is required. The doctor will also explain the risks as well as benefits of choosing to use Suboxone detox as treatment for addiction.

I was actually on suboxone for a while but it did not work for me. I do not think I was really ready to stop using yet or it may have worked. One needs to know that the drug suboxone is very expensive and I have not heard of any type of insurance that will cover this drug yet.

Suboxone is a claimed to be a miracle drug by some, saying that it saved their lives, their jobs, and their marriages. This great but you have to take action and you have to stick with it or it will not work.

If you have tried all the other options out there then why not give the suboxone method  a shot. It could prove to save your life too.

Good luck
