Are you battling with dilaudid addiction if you are then you have come to the right place. I will try to give you some suggestions as to how to overcome diaudid addiction.

One way is to taper your self off by taking for example 1mg less each day until you get down to nothing. Keep in mind that most addicts will not be able to do this because they have already lost control of their using. What you need to do is give your medication to someone who you trust and let them dole the medication out to you. This is the best way to taper off of dilaudid. Be advised that you will not stay clean long if you do not have some type of recovery program in place while you are getting through diaudid addiction.

You may want to think about starting to attend some 12 step meetings while you are detoxing. This will get you used to the program and you will meet some people like yourself that are trying to find a new way of life. While attending the meetings get some phone numbers from other addicts I can not stress enough how important they can be should you start craving dilaudid.

Now if this does not work well for you there is another alternative which is opiate drug rehab. Once admitted you will be detoxed medically from dilaudid.

This will be done by a staff of people working together to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Sometimes they will use suboxone for this because it works well to relieve the pain of dilaudid withdrawal. I have done this kind of detox and you can trust me here you will suffer very little.

You will be done before you can bat an eye. Not really but you get the picture it usually takes around 3 or 4 days to stop using dilaudid like this. During this process nothing will be required of you until you are moved to residential treatment, so plan on getting a lot of bed rest and you probably need it if you were the type of dilaudid I was.

Once you are in residential treatment you will be on a schedule to get very early each morning, this is to get you used to living the way normal people do who do not have a dilaudid addiction. Once your day has started you will be attending lectures about drug addiction and going to group therapy.

Most rehabs also have you watch recovery orientated videos, lectures, group, and lastly attend individual addiction therapy. Now when you are in your one on one session make sure that you talk about an aftercare plan; for instance, are you going to attend NA meetings or does this rehab offer outpatient therapy.

This step can not be overlooked it is vital for you to remain clean when you leave rehab. The whole idea behind rehab is to give you some tools to practice on how to learn to live life without relapsing.

Good luck
