Marijuana Addiction treatment

I think that a lot of people in the United States as well and other countries as well could benefit from some marijuana addiction treatment. Some of the signs clear signs that a person is addicted to marijuana would include symptoms, and indicators that give users an uncontrollable urge to use, and possess the illegal drug.

Often, those with an marijuana addiction to the drug are unable to stop using marijuana, even when the person has a strong desire to quit smoking weed. Excuses are generally the first indicator that an individual has a clear-cut addiction to the drug; to the user, it is never a good time to quit. Millions of marijuana users become addicted every year, so those struggling to become clean and sober are not alone because many folks are in dire need of marijuana addiction treatment.

The characteristics of marijuana addiction are comparably the same as an addiction to any other drugs, including alcohol, tobacco, or even caffeine. The longing for the drug outweighs the ability to quit. Addicted users find themselves constantly thinking about where and how to get the drug, as well as the quantity and quality of the drug itself. These basically the same things a heroin or cocaine addict goes through.

Addicts develop a physical craving for marijuana and their bodies produce a defense mechanism and tolerance that requires the user to smoke a greater quantity of the drug to produce any effect. An addiction begins when there is compulsive drug seeking and abuse, with no disregard to its harmful effects. Those that are addicted generally try to rationalize or justify the use of the drug.

What causes an individual to become addicted to marijuana? Studies have shown that it has become easier than ever for teens and young adults to buy the drug and develop a habit earlier on in adolescence. Additionally, the potency in marijuana has become much more intense than in any previous year. The main active ingredient is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC for short) which is a powerful, mood altering, stimulate that causes addiction. Long-term users report withdrawal effects such as irritability, sleeplessness, anxiety, and drug craving. Withdrawal symptoms generally occur within the first day of non-drug use, and subside at 1-2 weeks of abstinence. If you want to overcome marijuana addiction why not look into going to marijuana addiction treatment but to do this you must take action.

There are many places around these days that can treat marijuana addiction. I know some people that see an addiction therapist once a week and this seems to work well for them because they are no longer smoking weed and they were heavy pot smokers. They smoke weed from the time there feet hit the floor in the morning until the fell out that night.

I have also seen many people recover fromĀ  marijuana addiction by attending NA meetings on a regular. The good thing about this program is that its worldwide so you should have no trouble finding a meeting.

Good luck

I was i guess what you would call a marijuana addict. However when your talking about marijuana addiction you have to ask is the user also putting tobacco into their joints? or just pure marijuana? I decided to continue smoking marijuana but stop taking nicotine in all forms. I suffered withdrawal symptoms even whilst i smoked pure joints but not nicotine, i felt like something was missing. Once i passed the 3 week period without nicotine, i noticed that smoking marijuana was now an inconvenience, something i actually chose to do out of boredom, whereas i HAD to smoke it beforehand no matter how i felt, i was confusing my addiction to nicotine with addiction to marijuana.Marijuana is habit forming though, with prolonged use however soooo much easier to stop doing when you battling it alone. If you want to quit, start with nicotine, if you smoke it pure then you can stop just learn to cope with new and difficult situations.
