Long term rehab

If you have tried every way in the world to stop using drugs and can not stay clean like you have went to conventional treatment and got out and soon after you relapsed. I have done this and I was one of the people who said it will not work for me and I do not know why. Here is one of the reasons people leave rehab and relapse. They have not learned how to deal with life on life’s terms. I know this sounds crazy but we really have stunted our emotional growth by using drugs.

Another is they probably stopped going to meetings I hear this a lot along with a variety of reason why the person relapsed. We do learn the basics but we as of yet do not have the skills to deal with a lot of things. I know that a few times I thought I had it all figured out, guess what I used again. What I am going to suggest to the people who can not stay clean is that they make arrangements to go go to long term rehab. I would even go so far as to say to relocate if you can not find one near you.

If you do this you will have a fresh start when you complete long term rehab for chemical dependency.

Long term rehab

I would suggest that you find a long term drug treatment center that can house you for a minimum of 6 months to 2 years. I would go for the full 2 years that’s what I did. Once there you will be required to do certain things.

Where I went you could either go to work or school. If you wanted to work you paid part of your income for rent. If you used any drugs or alcohol you were out no questions asked. This made for a very safe living environment. We also had to attend 90 meetings in 90 days, attend group therapy twice a week, and individual addiction therapy once per week.

My therapist encouraged me to go back to school. Let me add right here I was scared beyond belief. I thought I was too old. I finally did register for classes and on my first day I felt out of place like I did not belong. I felt this way for a long time but I would share my fears with my therapist. I learned to face my fears one by one. When I got my grades for the first time I was placed on the deans list. Then I knew I could do it. It is my belief that anyone can stop using drugs and overcome chemical dependency, find a new way to live if they are willing to take the action. Why not find a long term rehab center today?

If you go it will give you the opportunity to turn your life around and you can basically be the person you always wanted to be. Some people go back to school like me and get there degree while others further their careers. It is one of the greatest feelings I have ever felt and this all happened with Gods help and by making a commitment to change my life.

Good luck
