OK you made it here so you must be tired of using heroin if not maybe you are in the wrong place. If you are in the right place I can give you some suggestions on how to stop using heroin. Here is how I got clean I went to NA meetings every day for 90 days and I read NA literature. I also went to addiction treatment and there I went through heroin withdrawal and I got help with a heroin detox.

If you can not get clean any other way maybe this type of  detox is for you what they will do is detox you from heroin medically. This will be done by a staff of medical personal who are trained for this. They will more than likely use subutex and finish with a suboxone detox . This procedure takes from 3 to 5 days but this is not enough. You need to take a look at the reasons why you were using heroin. One of my big ones was that I had a fear of failing as well as succeeding.

I made a commitment to change my life this included going back to school and making a bunch of new friends. I wanted to be able to help people so I chose to go to school for social Work and I may even work with addicts so they can learn how to stop using heroin too.

It does not really matter what you used or the things you have done in your past all that really matters is that you want to change your life but action is necessary for change. Make a commitment to go to meetings meet some new people because we no longer can hang out with our using friends. I think you should also get a sponsor.

What ever you decide do not use any heroin. You can stop using heroin one day at a time just like I did and never have to worry about heroin withdrawal again. It does take work but the benefits are unbelievable and you will quit using heroin. Are you ready to take action? If not I can tell you from experience you will relapse. The old saying holds true nothing ventured nothing gained.

If you have any other recovery related suggestions or experiences we welcome your comments
