How to stop drug abuse with a suboxone detox

A suboxone detox may be for those of you suffering from an addiction to heroin or other opiate drugs. So basically it may be a good idea to try a suboxone detox to get through opiate withdrawal.

Some of you may not know exactly what suboxe on is. It is basically a synthetic opiate. What it actually does is make the brain feel good so that you do not get sick during withdrawal. One of the benefits of getting over your drug addiction with a suboxone detox is that this drug will not actually get you high. It was made for the purpose to helping drug addicts get through opiate withdrawal as easy as possible. I mean thats the main reason why so may addicts continue using the fear of withdrawal.

Suboxone treatment for drug addiction help

Suboxone also has a second ingredient or medication which called Nalaxone and is to there to make shooting the drug. It works as an opiate blocker so even if you were able to inject it you would not feel it.

This drug may indeed work well for a lot of individuals but there are some drawbacks which include being very expensive. Most people will need to take this medication twice a day. So figure around 7 to 8 dollars per pill and up to 500 a month; furthermore, insurance will not cover it yet. If you can afford this by all means go for it. I mean if you are anything like me at the end of my addiction when I was ready to admit defeat and had enough of using drugs I would have tried anything.

It has been my experice that most people who use suboxone to stop drug abuse will be trying to quit heroin or other opiate drugs. Some will choose to stop using there drug of choice in one to two weeks while others may require being on a suboxone maintenance program.

I have been on this drug and  used it to overcome heroin addiction after my heroin detox it did not work for me but I was not through with my drug use yet so that’s the reason. Now I have seen a lot of people actually get clean using thes medication and relapse soon after stopping suboxone.

The reason for this is that they did not have a strong recovery program or did not have one at all. So I would suggest that anyone who uses suboxone to overcome their drug addiction to plan ahead for drug addiction recovery.

Using drug addiction recovery to stop drug abuse

In the beginning of my recovery I used drug addiction therapy and the program of Narcotics Anonymous to keep me clean and sober. It is up to you how and what you want to use for your addiction recovery program but you must use something or you too will relapse.

I can tell you this if you do decide to give yourself a break and stop using drugs you will not regret it so much will change for you it will seem unreal.

Good luck

Sube is just another substitute for opiates. Instead of smoking or injecting you take it by mouth. One way or other you must go through the WD symptoms if you want to get off opiates. You can switch to Sube, stay on it for a while and then you will have to deal with WD symptoms of Sube ! :-) What exactly is the point ? just another pharma trick to make some money. Just as Heroin was initially made to cure opiate use !! :-)

Hi there Jacob thanks for sharing

OK, It can indeed be a substitute for other opiates but the fact is that its legal. You also say what is the point of using suboxone you will still have to go through the WD just like any other opiates.

Of course this can be true depending on how you come off of it; for example, if you wean off it as ordered by the prescribing physician then you should not suffer any physical WD but one may be challenged when coping with it mentally.

If we look hard enough we can find faults with everything. Since I have gotten clean I do my very best to lean towards the positive side when it is at all possible.

    Good luck
