How to get through heroin withdrawal in a inpatient drug rehab facility
The best way to go through heroin withdral is in treatment in my opinion is in a inpatient detox facility. Now keep in mind I speak from experience having detox from heroin in a inpatient rehab many times and let me just say is a lot easier than quitting heroin cold turkey at home. If you decide to use this method there you can go through detoxed from heroin rather comfortably. Do not be afraid because a medical staff will administer medications to help ease the withdrawl. One can go to rehab and go through the whole detox process in about 3 or 4 days but it could take up to 5 depending on how much dope you were actually using.
However when you are finished with your heroin withdrawl detox I would recommend that you continue your recovery in residential treatment. This will help to prepare you for when you leave residential treatment and go home. I have kicked heroin both of these ways so trust me you can get clean with both. The idea though is to remain clean!
There are many ways a person can remain clean and sober after leaving substance abuse treatment. When I was in long term drug rehab I attended NA meetings on daily basis. This can be one of the most profound experiences a heroin addict can have the reason being it gets them around people who are trying to change their lives because one addict helping another is without parallel. I would suggest you too attend meetings every day so you build up a strong heroin addiction recovery foundation. While attend meetings you will make a lot of new friends who are just like you doing there best to stay clean and sober.
