Heroin withdrawal cold turkey
I would recommend that anyone who is hooked on heroin or other drugs such as vicodin and wants to change their life is more than likely going to need some type of detox program. Due to the complexion of heroin addiction anyone who chooses to go Heroin withdrawal cold turkey is going to have a really tough time of getting through the symptoms of heroin withdrawal. I want everyone to know what they are in for if they decided to go through heroin withdrawal cold turkey.
Heroin withdrawal tips things to expect when you go heroin cold turkey
1. First thing you need to know is you will have insomnia
2. You will more than likely experience cold chills aka goose bumps
3. Loss of appetite
4. Anxiety
5. Sweats
6. Diarrhea
7. Nausea and vomiting
8. Cravings to use
9. Wanting to give up and use
10. Stomach and leg cramps
This can be done but one must face the facts that this is inevitably what you must be prepared to go through. One other thing you need to consider is that you will have no medication to help you except things you can buy over the counter.
One way you can kick heroin is do it at home for this I would suggest you find someone willing to come and stay with you during your heroin withdrawal. This is a very hard way to stop using heroin and you will need all the help you can get.
When I quit using heroin this way I forced myself to stay awake a good 24 to 36 hrs before I intended to stop heroin. This may just help you to sleep through the worst of you heroin detox.
Now at this point I would go to the local drug store and pick up some Motrin, Keopeptate, and some Benadryl. The Benadryl may actually help you to get a little sleep and the Motrin will help with headache and cramps. If you do not succeed at this and you really want to learn how to stop using heroin then I would suggest that you go to heroin treatment.

Hi there,
I’ve been on h on and off for 10 years. Didn’t shoot up, but snuffed it. Im 30 (female) and have withdrawed quite allot and today is my 5th day. What usually helps for cramps is taking a warm bath. I bath continuously through the day and night when I can’t sleep. Sometimes I fall asleep in bath for a few minutes.
It is the most extremely hardest thing I have ever tried to complete. i always give up the second day.
Just want to know: Will stillpayne and valium (i know it’s addictive) not be better, it actually helps me be less intense. Not much help, but better than nothing.
Just for interest sake, are you clean now? and for how long?
Thanks for the helpfull website.
Regards

Hi Gwen congrats on getting clean and sharing about what helps helps you get through withdrawals others need to know that there are techniques that will help. You may have helped someone out by sharing this so I would encourage you to continue to share you hopes strengths and experiences with others to let them know they too can stop using.
I know its not easy I used H for over 30 years but I am clean today I am working on 4yrs clean this time you can do this too if you put in the work and take action “recovery is all about action.”
I would be very careful with the valium because its very easy to switch from one drug to another. Doing that kept me high for a lot of years too. I would use one until I ran out and move on to something else.
Good luck to you and God bless
