If you think that you may be addicted to heroin then you may want to look into detox methadone fast without relapsing then you may want to look into some type of methadone treatment. This can be done at a methadone clinic where you go daily to be treated on methadone maintenance program. There you will be dosed with methadone to help ease the discomfort that as a rule follows when one stops heroin.
How to get through methadone withdrawal
Now the question becomes what happens when you no longer need the heroin but become dependent on methadone and have to face methadone withdrawal. I can tell you from my experience with methadone withdrawal it is double tough. Now this may have had something to do with me withdrawing from methadone in jail methadone cold turkey.
I was sicker than a broke d..k dog. I could not eat or sleep for a good two weeks so I would suggest that if you are planing to stop using methadone in the near future do not try it cold turkey without medication to ease the pain of withdrawing from methadone.

This may have been avoided if the individual would have done a 21 day methadone detox then there would have been little chance of ending up with a methadone addiction. If this has happened to you do not feel alone it happened to me; I became addicted to methadone and was on it for 3 years and as a matter the only way I got off it was go to jail.
I tried to stop using methadone more than once while on the program but when I would get tapered down to practically nothing I would ask the nurse to raise my dose again. When I look back on it I thank God that I did go to jail.
Overcome methadone addiction
Now in order to overcome your addiction to methadone it is going to take a complete lifestyle overhaul. By this I mean you are going to have to come up with a plan to stay clean. One way you can kick is methadone cold turkey that’s how I went through my methadone withdrawal while in jail. If you can stay at the clinic and have them taper you off of methadone this would be the best bet. If you can not handle this then there is another option.
When I say methadone is addicting I say this from experience and with all certainty because I have been there and done that. Methadone is a highly addictive drug and just as addictive as heroin and in order to quit using methadone one should consider going to an inpatient methadone treatment. There you can detox methadone medically. In methadone treatment they use intravenous drugs to rapidly remove the opiates from ones body while you are under anesthesia.
The RDD method of anesthesia methadone detox was developed by Rapid Drug Detox Center, a private methadone addiction treatment facility. This can be deadly because some people have actually died from being under to long. I will add here again that this can be used for coming off of any type of opiates.
I have never personally tried this method but it sounds like a great way to stop using methadone. I am not in no big hurry to find out either because I am clean today and for the most part enjoying life without the use of mind altering substances and I have done my share of methadone rehab.
Why not quit using methadone today and start to enjoy life it can begin with a methadone detox. The only other alternative is a life of gloom and doom, jails, institutions and death.
Once you get clean from methadone it is only the first step because now you have to stay clean unless you want to go through it again. I can tell you how I did and how I still do it. I attend NA meetings on a regular basis. It works for me and is working everyday for countless people around the world it can work for you too but you will have to take action why not do it now.

MMT is simply a legal dope-dealer. Methadone is 1000X worse than heroin in regards to withdrawal syndrome – so anyone considering methadone, DON’T! I cold-turkey detoxed from 170 mgs, daily. It was hell, however, once you come out the other end of the pain it causes, life never seemed so sweet. I believe that supplementing one drug addiction for another should be considered criminal because once a person has become opiate-dependent, they have no ability to see what they have become – a slave to an extremely dangerous substance with an extremely high abuse potential. Family, friends, and life overall take a backseat to ‘getting a fix’.

Thanks Nick for sharing with us. I too have come off of over 200 mgs and the withdrawal was a bitch. I tend to agree with you that anyone who is thinking about getting on methadone to escape heroin withdrawal of to escape life period should think long and hard about doing so. Like you say I was a slave to the drug. In the beginning I had to be at the clinic 6 days a week by 6;30 am until I got take homes and I still felt as if I had a ball and chain on me to the methadone clinic.

I too have come off methadone, I’m actually I’m doing it now. I was only on 25mg but it is still really hard!

Hi Adrianne yes it is hard but in the end it will be well worth it not having to be in the grips of addiction. I remember just hating to be up at 5am to go get dosed. Anyway congrats on your decision to stop methadone. Hang in there and you will make I am sure. I know that you will be very happy to no longer be a prisoner to a drug.Keep us informed of how your doing.

i hate my life being in the grip of heroin and methadone, i have lost my wife and cant seem to put my life back on track. i want this so much 4 my self and my wife. i just cant see the end!!!!! please any advice.

Well am going to start by telling you the truth I hate to give you bad news but the first thing you need to know is that its ok to want this for your wife but you can not do it for her. I am guessing that she has left anyway if you do not get clean and place your recovery you will never be able to keep a wife or anything else.
If you are indeed tired of heroin and methadone running your life you are going to need some help to get your life back together in case you have not figured it out for yourself yet we can not get clean alone. Heres the thing any addict alone is in bad company!
What I would suggest is that you take action and start attending some NA meetings. My suggestion would be to go to a least one a day. When I first got clean I went to a minimum of 2 or 3. I did this for 90 days and then repeated it again. So if you really are serious then go to a meeting. NA saved my life and is saving it every day.

to all that is thinking about methadone detox cold turkey ,please stay on a taper program ecspecially to th ones on ahigh mg.,cold turkey is hell i am off 110mg and in my 14day of cold turkey.this is not what i thought it was gonna be so,check your sources and get jesus he is the only thing helping me right now!!!!
