Heroin overdose

Heroin overdose is quite common among heroin drug users and I am going to try and explain why this occurs.

Many time new users to shooting heroin will do too much and overdose and I will expound on that here. The first thing that happens is the person develops a heroin habit. One of the most common ways an addict can overdose on heroin is when they first start doing heroin they do not need to much to get high.

After repeatedly using the drug they will develop a tolerance. When this occurs the heroin addcit will have to use more and more to get the desired effect.

This is especially dangerous for the addict who is shooting heroin. You may wonder why this is so well.. the heroin addict who  is injecting heroin never knows the purity of the drugs they are using; for example, the quality can change from bag to bag.

One dealer may have used more cut than the other dealer and it would take more for the drug addicted person to get high. Thinking this they will do more and if the bag happens to be the P well then heroin overdose is imminent.

Signs of heroin overdose

There are no doubts that heroin is a very strong drug.  Some components of it are used in treating patients with various conditions but, as a street drug, it can be lethal and the possibility of a serious and potentially fatal overdose is always in the back of the user’s mind.

The addiction to heroin is so strong that even the thought of an overdose prevents users from stopping until they seek help.  This is why it is important to make sure these people know what can trigger a heroin overdose and what the symptoms of an overdose are so they can prevent it and seek help if it happens to them.

An overdose from heroin can be caused by several factors.  One of the top reasons for overdosing is drinking alcohol while high on heroin.  The other main reason is just simply doing too much.  This can happen because, over time, a user stops feeling the effects from their usual amount so they start taking more.  Some symptoms of an overdose include:

1) Slow breathing

2) Slowed heart beat

3) Bluish skin and fingernails

4) Cold and clammy skin

5) Seizures

6) Dry mouth

7) Coma

8) Death if not treated in time

I started using heroin over 30 years ago but I am clean today but I overdosed on heroin several times as a matter of fact one time I O. D. was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and when I came to I had tubes coming out of me everywhere.

Heroin overdose from shooting heroin and wanted more

Well when I seen the Dr. I asked him when I could go home and he said why you got some more heroin at home? I responded that I did not. What a lie that’s the only reason I wanted to leave because I knew I had more dope at home.

Heroin addiction can cause some sick thinking. What person in their right mind would go repeat the same behavior right after they dam near died of heroin overdose. All I know is that my diseased thinking wanted me to do another bag of dope. If any of this sounds familiar to you I would strongly suggest that you get some heroin addiction help.

One can get the help they need in heroin rehab. If you go you will have a medical heroin detox. Once you have successfully completed this then I would continue my heroin addiction recovery in residential treatment. If you do not do this you will in all likelihood relapse!!

Keep in mind that any addict can stop using heroin, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live.

Good luck and God bless
